Airport Now Offering Trips To Nowhere To Give Travelers The Illusion Of Vacation

Taipai Songshan Airport In Taiwan Began The Trips To Nowhere In July

July 6, 2020

For most travelers, flying to a destination is the worst part of a vacation. Airports, and air travel can be extremely stressful at times, but with many stuck at home for the last few months, some apparently are even starting to miss things like TSA checkpoints. Now, an airport in Taiwan in offering trips to nowhere in order to give people the illusion of travel.

Taipai Songshan Airport in Taiwan began offering trips to nowhere in July, as actually received about 7,000 people interested in the flight. In the end, they selected 60 people for the trip, and will continue the no destination flights for the next few weeks. Those selected for the trip received a boarding pass, and went through normal security checkpoints, before waiting in the terminal as if they were boarding the plane.

While they didn’t actually get to travel anywhere, it gave those wishing to travel a reason to get out of the house and do something that seemed normal a few months ago. The passengers practiced social distancing and wore masks. Hopefully soon they will actually get to sit on the plane.
