Celebrity baby names are always interesting, and rarely normal, but many were still shocked when Grimes and Elon Musk recently announced their son’s name was “X Æ A-12.” Pronounced “Ex Ash A Twelve” the couple quickly went viral for their odd choice of baby name, but now it seems they will have to change it according to California Law. Luckily for the couple, they were able to make an adjustment to make the name legal and just as confusing.

Grimes and Elon Musk welcomed their first child earlier this month, and honored the celebrity baby with a name fit for the child of the musician and eccentric inventor. However, California law states names must be created “using the 26 alphabetical letters of the English language.” That means while apostrophes and dashes are allowed, numbers are not.

The couple has since made changes to the name, according to a recent post by Grimes. The name is now “X Æ A-Xii.” The couple still hasn’t said what they will choose to call their son, with many speculating on potential nicknames for the odd name. Whatever it is, teachers will definitely struggle with this one on the first day of school.
