Tom Hardy has taken on a number of iconic roles throughout his acting career, but his latest may be his most highly anticipated yet. The actor is set to portray Al Capone and the first trailer for the film was released this week. ‘Capone,’ originally due for a theatrical release later this year, will now be released on video-on-demand on May 12th.

As seen in the trailer, Hardy portrays iconic gangster Al Capone in the later years of his life. In the film, he is living in Florida and has dementia, though is still as ruthless as ever. According to the film’s synopsis, “Harrowing memories of his violent and brutal origins melt into his waking life. As he spends his final year surrounded by family with the FBI lying in wait.”

The film was directed by Josh Trank and stars Matt Dillon, Kyle MacLachlan and Linda Cardellini along with Hardy. With movie theaters currently shut down, the distributors decided to release the film early. However, Trank says he hopes for a theatrical run later this year as well.
