All Disney Vault Films Will Be Available Soon On New Streaming Service

The Disney Vault Will Open for Launch of Disney Plus

March 8, 2019

I have a feeling that Disney is about to take over the streaming world with the launch of their new streaming service, Disney Plus later this year.

They will be opening up the entire Disney Vault and adding these films to Disney Plus along with every Disney film dating back to their 1920's cartoons.

"The service--is going to combine what we call library product, movies, and television, with a lot of original product as well, movies, and television," Disney CEO Bob Iger says. "And at some point fairly soon after launch it will house the entire Disney motion picture library, so the movies that you speak of that traditionally have been kept in a 'vault' and brought out basically every few years will be on the service."

The Disney film, Song of the South, has sparked some controversy because it has been regarded as racist since it released in 1946. Critics have spoken out against Disney releasing this film from the vault.

Aside from that, Disney isn't just stopping at the vault. They intend on adding Avengers: Endgame and Star Wars: Espisode IX within a year of their releases.

Disney is planning to also produce their own content, much like Netflix does with their "Netflix Originals". According to DigitalTrends, plans have been drawn to make tv series based off of the Marvel and Star Wars universes.
